SINGLES REPORT: Zayn’s Still Got Time added to 75 stations last week

Staff Writer

It’s business as usual for Ed Sheeran in this week’s Australian Singles Report with smash hit Shape Of You clinging to #1 on the Artist Top 50 and reclaiming the top spot on the Hot 100.

The track seems impervious to the natural course of chart devaluation that sees most songs hold the reins for a week or two before slipping down the pecking order.

Shape Of You also maintains its spot at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart – that’s an impressive 12 consecutive weeks. The last single to hold #1 for 12 straight weeks was Eminem’s timeless anthem Lose Yourself in 2002/03.

As predicted last week, ZAYN‘s new team-up with PartyNextDoor is the #1 Most Added To Radio. Still Got Time received additions to 75 stations last week including across-the-board adds on the Nova Network, various commercial Hit stations and Ash London Live.

But Weekends, Amy Shark‘s follow-up to the all-conquering Adore, came in at a close second, scoring adds across commercial without having to put in the hard yards with alternative first. Weekends is undoubtedly enjoying a smoother ride as a result of its big sister paving the way.

Machine Gun Kelly proved his potential at radio last year with Bad Things ft. Camila Cabello. The track peaked at #27 on the Hot 100 and has set a platform for new hit At My Best ft. Hailee Steinfeld. Definitely one of the punchiest pop anthems to come out this year, Steinfeld’s feature ought to turn quite a few heads.

Meanwhile, Lorde makes serious upward movement at #3 from #5 on the Hot 100 with Green Light. The track is now one spot away from tying her career peak of #2, held by her breakthrough single Royals. Green Light has real potential to match or even exceed Royals if she can manage the difficult task of dislodging The Chainsmokers & Coldplay’s Something Just Like This and Sheeran’s Shape Of You.
