Social Scorecard: Radio’s top social posts this week feat. Ben & Liam, Collective Noun and Hit 92.9’s Heidi, Xavier & Ryan

Our top picks this week come from triple j’s Ben and Liam, The Hit Network’s Collective Noun and Hit 92.9’s Heidi, Xavier and Ryan.

1. triple j’s Ben and Liam – ‘Listening to Australian Radio’

There’s nothing worse than watching a clip of people trying so hard to be funny, that it comes across as desperate. Don’t underestimate your audience – they can sense it. This clip, however, is the complete opposite.

It’s well-thought-out, a great length and aligns perfectly with their demographic. The boys have used humour to make a point, even poking fun at themselves. This triggers emotion, which in turn allows them to connect with their listeners and build their brand.

Just goes to show that the best comedy clips on socials don’t have to be complicated to go viral or get their message across.

2. The Hit Network’s Collective Noun – ‘Vegan Protestor Logic’

These fellas impress me time and time again and are so on the ball when it comes to their socials. This time around they’ve taken a current news story, pounced on it and found a way to turn it on its head – all while using humour to humanise their brand once again. It’s smart, relevant and well-executed; most importantly they aren’t just pushing old content for the sake of it.

If you want some inspiration, I strongly suggest taking your cues from Dom, Zach, Michael and the team behind Collective Noun. People, this is how you pull off comedy via social media!

3. Hit 92.9’s Heidi, Xavier and Ryan – ‘Who’s looking forward to their kids going back to school?’

Simple concept, timely and resonates with their audience. Once again, a great example of a social media producer that is in tune with their target demographic and has produced a simple piece that will get great engagement.

It’s not rocket science – it’s about going over your analytics, using it to craft some strong strategy and then executing content.
