Social Scorecard: Radio’s top social posts feat. The Grill Team, Ash London and Ash, Kip & Luttsy

This week’s top picks for next social media content come from Triple M Sydney, Hit Network and Nova Brisbane.

1. Triple M Sydney’s The Grill Team: “Gus remade a Cher music video”

I’ve touched before on repurposing content and this is executed just in time for Sydney’s Mardi Gras featuring pop goddess Cher. In fact, SCA from what I can see were one of the few networks that pushed any parade inspire content. It’s simple; using trending events amps up user engagement.

They’ve shared a video that aligns with their audience but at the same time, is event themed. This demonstrates some well thought out strategy and a well-rounded content calendar under their belt. I’m just not sure I can erase the image of Gus gyrating over a cannon out of my mind anytime soon!

2. The Hit Network’s Ash London LIVE – Instagram Stories

Beyond evergreen content, successful engaging content is the behind the scene stuff. I particularly love the clip with Producer Draco – demonstrates that the team have fun, shows the individuals behind the show which in turn humanises the brand.

The team are triggering a genuine connection with their audience using their Stories. Why have we chosen to highlight it? This provokes followers liking, commenting and sharing.

3. Nova Brisbane’s Ash, Kip & Luttsy: “I, Nick”

The quicker stations realise talk break videos are not social media content, we can get back to being interesting and creative with socials. Want to catch your listener’s attention? Then create content like this.

They’ve gone to the trouble of creating a video that not only ties into their show but a well-known movie release. Users love creative twists on new relevant themes, so use it to your brand’s advantage like these guys have. But please – don’t forget to push this type of content out quickly while the trend is still hot.

I, Nick

It's Nick vs. Kip in our final Oscars trailer, 'I, Nick'. Who will end up pushing the buttons??
