Social Scorecard: Radio’s top social posts feat Mike E & Emma, 2DayFM Breakfast, Fox FM

This week’s top picks come from The Edge 96.1’s Mike E and Emma, 2DayFM Breakfast and Fox FM.

1. The Edge 96.1’s Mike E and Emma: “Is it ok to save a parking spot for someone?” (ARN)

Polling about a massive conversation piece that’s been in the news – hit a home run. It not only is a great piece of content, but it generates a better understanding of listeners and their online community in real-time. This content also enables them to build their online audience and boosts traffic. It’s a unique way to trigger conversation and boost engagement. Quite often shows and networks underutilise a lot of tools on socials. They’re quick to generate and stand out in users feeds because it’s something different to a sea of videos and memes. Love it!

2. 2DayFM Breakfast: “The Best Australian Adverts of All Time” (SCA)

Nostalgia posts are always a social winner. Why? Because it triggers all those feels for fans and followers. This type of content reinforces identity and emotional connections and also prompts users to engage and share posts. Studies have even demonstrated that this form of posts even improves people’s moods and gives them the warm and fuzzies! Some savvy strategy at play – they’ve identified their demographic on Facebook and targeted them with specific content.

3. Fox FM: “Diet starts on Tuesday” (SCA)

Those nachos need to get in my face ASAP and that’s why this is brilliant. Food and meals are social, and this is just another topic that not only sparks engagement but is relevant to any demographic. Videos and pictures that display food are so visually appealing that it boosts users pleasure anticipation. What that means is, this dam video made me look like a 2-year-old drooling over some ice cream. We as humans relish and share when it comes to our food, so it strengthens our bond with each other and starts conversations. Belissimo!
