Triple R program manager Stephen ‘The Ghost’ Walker has passed away.

Best known for his 3RRR program ‘The Skull Cave’, Walker died after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis and a short one with cancer.

He spent 14 years as program manager and 37 at the station.

The underground Melbourne music icon introduced many with life-changing music during the ’80s and ’90s.

He was the first radio presenter to be inducted into Music Victoria Hall of Fame.

Walker’s family have requested privacy at this time, and details of a memorial service will be released shortly.

Triple R paid tribute to ‘The Ghost’ on their page, writing “we are deeply saddened that Stephen ‘The Ghost’ Walker passed away on Wednesday 3 July 2019.

“He was instrumental in shaping the sound of Triple R during the late ’80s and ’90s and forever more.”
