The Christian O’Connell Show appoints new EP, Tom Martin

Former Editor & Content Director

The Christian O’Connell Show on GOLD104.3 in Melbourne has a new executive producer.

Tom Martin, formerly a senior producer at Triple M’s Hot Breakfast with Eddie McGuire and Luke Darcy, joined the ARN-owned station this week.

He replaces EP Brad Hulme. Radio Today understands Hulme is finishing up at the conclusion of his contract.

Throughout his four years at SCA, Martin worked as an EP on the Heidi, Will & Woody Breakfast show on Hit92.9 in Perth, before moving to Melbourne to work on the Hughesy & Kate show in the same role. He then became talent development manager across SCA’s national operation alongside being EP for Tom & Olly on Triple M’s Weeknights. He joined Hot Breakfast in February last year.

GOLD104.3’s content director, Sue Carter, praised Martin’s appointment.

“We’re really excited to have secured Tom to EP The Christian O’Connell Show. He brings with him many years’ experience creating great content, and we look forward to the continued success of Melbourne’s number one breakfast show, The Christian O’Connell Show,” she said.

Martin similarly praised his new team.

“If you’re a fan of radio, you’re a fan of Christian O’Connell,” he said. “That’s why it’s such a genuine privilege to be able to join the show and work alongside Christian, Jack, Pats, and the rest of the team. They’re a great bunch.”

If you ever have the privilege to watch Tom in EP mode, you’ll be instantly inspired. Incredible mentor and all round good human.

Tom and Olly didn’t do middawns on Triple M… unless you meant Tom (Martin) worked for them on Hit?

    Hi Niko,

You are correct. I merged some sentences there and ended up with the wrong thing.

The story has been updated to say Triple M Weeknights.

    Thanks for flagging,
