triple j‘s free annual rural concert will return in 2019, with the national broadcaster revealing the One Night Stand lineup.

The One Night Stand was created with a view to bringing a blockbuster bill to a town somewhere in Australia that doesn’t usually have access to epic live music events.

This year the lineup includes hip hop veterans Hilltop Hoods, singer-songwriter Meg Mac, Northern Beaches band Ocean Alley and singer-drummer-songwriter G Flip.

They’ll also be joined by a yet-to-be-announced Unearthed winner from the area.

Previous locations for the One Night Stand included St Helens, TAS (2018), Mount Isa, QLD (2017) and Geraldton, WA (2016).

The location will be announced later this week on Breakfast with Ben & Liam (Thursday, June 27).

The entire gig will be broadcast on triple j Live on Saturday, September 14.

UPDATE: triple j has announced the 2019 One Night Stand will take place in the rural town of Lucindale, South Australia.

It has a population of just 500 people, making it the smallest town to ever hold the One Night Stand.

“We are very excited to have been selected to host the triple j One Night Stand featuring some of Australia’s best acts,” said Lucindale mayor Erika Vickery OAM.

“We’re looking forward to showing off Lucindale to the rest of Australia. This is an opportunity for our young people to experience a fantastic event which provides a platform to highlight the youth in our community. This event will show that small communities, such as Lucindale, can do incredible things.”
