Triple M Footy welcomes Dale Thomas in 2020

Staff Writer

Triple M Footy is expanding its caller team for the 2020 AFL season, with Dale ‘Daisy’ Thomas joining the network.

The former Carlton and Collingwood player retired at the end of 2019 and recently had a stint on Ten’s popular reality show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here

Thomas is set to bring his insight and analysis to Triple M Footy, having settled into retirement in recent months.

“I’ve grown up listening Triple M, so to have this opportunity to join the team has me pumped!” he said.

Triple M Footy is now in its 24th consecutive season, and based on GfK’s radio ratings over winter for 2020, remains Australia’s #1 AFL call on radio.

“Daisy has been a friend of Triple M Footy for a long time, so it was an easy decision to get him onboard for 2020,” said Triple M head of sport Ewan Giles.

“If he can survive in the jungle then the commentary box should be a walk in the park!”

Thomas will join Nathan Brown, Leigh Montagna, Barry Denner, Ash Chua and Sarah Olle for Round 1 match between Richmond and Carlton, live from the MGC.

He also joined The Hot Breakfast on Wednesday morning to chat about joining the team.
