92.5 Gold FM’s Luke Bradnam pulls off “mad dash” to Everest base camp

Staff Writer

Gold FM’s Luke Bradnam has made an accelerated 48-hour trek to Everest base camp this week.

Bradnam’s Gold Coast Drive show The Rush Hour was axed recently, and will not return for 2018, but that wasn’t about to stop him making the climb.

He was forced to start late, and compressed the normally week-long trek into just 48 hours, admitting it turned into a “mad dash”.

Bradnam attempted the climb earlier this year with his 12-year-old daughter but had to abort as she came down with altitude sickness.

He posted a video from the base camp over the weekend, calling for the name of Fraser Island, where he spent his childhood, to be changed back to K’Gari Island.

Luke's returned from Mt. Everest Base Camp with a very important message. Watch the video below #ChangeTheName https://www.change.org/p/premiers-master-premiers-qld-gov-au-change-fraser-island-s-name-back-to-k-gari-island
