TuneIn & Apple to bring more radio stations to Siri-enabled devices

Staff Writer

A new collaboration between Apple and TuneIn will see an extra 100,000 radio stations around the world accessed via all Siri-enabled devices and Apple Music.

TuneIn, a live global streaming and on-demand audio service, has a reach of 200 different platforms and devices in 197 countries.

“We are thrilled to join forces with Apple and be a part of the company’s ecosystem on a global scale,” said Tony Archibong, TuneIn’s vice president of distribution & business development.

“As our 75 million users around the world can attest, radio is one of the most popular categories of audio listening on connected devices, and this important partnership serves to heighten our user experience and be everywhere our listener is.”

The company explains that a simple voice command could take TuneIn users to FOX News Talk, Clemson Football, or regional radio favorites such as Heart UK, RTL Germany, NRJ France, ABC Australia or CBC Canada.

The new collaboration comes on the heels of Apple’s release of iOS 13, which introduces a new radio experience to Apple devices – including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, CarPlay, and HomePod.
