Hit93.1 Riverina is the #1 commercial radio station in Wagga Wagga, NSW.

Formerly Star FM, the SCA station finished the survey as the station listened to most with 31.8% (-0.6) ahead of stablemates Riverina’s Triple M 1152 (previously 2WG).

The survey is the first since SCA rebranded the two stations, and was conducted by Xtra Insights between March 4 and 23.

triple j had the most impressive movement, with 8.9% (+2.1), but is in fourth place behind ABC Local.

Hit’s Herbie & Dane were the #1 Breakfast show in the region.

Wagga Wagga is the 84th regional survey since CRA introduced the new system for digital ratings in 2014.

Local regional radio is a part of the community and the survey results will allow the stations to demonstrate their reach,” said CRA chief executive Joan Warner.

“Regional radio has often been overlooked as a marketing medium when you consider the size of the audience it reaches.”

As with all other Xtra Insights surveys, the results do not produce a traditional share figure but is based on stations listened to most rather than share.

The next regional centres to be surveyed will include Dubbo, Mandurah and Coffs Harbour.
