What surprises will be thrown up by Survey 3?

Former Assistant Editor

The third GfK radio survey results of 2018 are released tomorrow, and Radio Today will bring you the results at 9:30am AEST.

There’ll be plenty to sink our teeth into, including the latest on 2DayFM Breakfast, and whether Em, Grant and Ed will be able to sustain or increase their Survey 2 numbers, with their new music strategy seeing a jump to 5.2% of People 10+.

Aside from that, the remainder of Sydney’s Breakfast results appears fairly predictable. Not so for Melbourne, where Survey 3 will provide a good indication as to whether KIIS 101.1’s Jase and PJ were worth bringing across the ditch for 2018.

This could also be the survey that sets the tone for the rest of the year if Fox FM secure another top result (they held 10.3% in Survey 2).

With Christian O’Connell’s Gold104.3 Breakfast show only kicking off today, interested parties will have to wait until Survey 4 to see whether he can make a dent in the Melbourne market.

National Drive looks set to be another hotly contested slot, with sweeping talent changes across several networks from the start of the year having settled in.

Nova’s Kate, Tim and Marty remain the pace-setters, so what will the Hit Network’s Carrie and Tommy and Hughesy and Kate hit back with, and will we see progress from Triple M’s Kennedy Molloy or KIIS FM newbies Will and Woody.

With Macquarie’s Sports Radio revamp taking place shortly prior to Survey 2, this survey will be a much better indication as to whether the network’s decision to replace Talking Lifestyle was a wise one.

All will be revealed tomorrow at 9:30am AEST right here on Radio Today.

What result is expected for Macquarie Sports Radio in Sydney? Are they prepared for a figure lower than 2%?
