Zinc 96.1 launches August 80s

Sunshine Coast’s Zinc 96.1 is immersing themselves back in the 80s throughout the month of August. As a station that plays a variety of 70s, 80s and 90s, they wanted to really focus in on a generation that shaped music culture.

Content Director Ross Turner wants to play songs listeners haven’t heard since the 80s.

“August 80s is our way of remembering and revelling in the best the decade had to offer.”

To catch a glimpse of some old tunes, Zinc 96.1 will be playing tracks every day from 9am to 6pm. Throughout the day the station will also be giving away tickets to their 80s Mania party at Eatons Hill featuring Wang Chung, Paul Young, Cutting Crew and Taylor Dayne.

At the end of the month the station will be hosting a “skaties” date night party and will also be playing the top rated 80s songs in a countdown as voted by you. Votes are open at zinc96.com.au.
