Where there’s a Quill ..

Neil Mitchell has done it again, adding another Quill Award to an already huge collection of honours and awards.

The Quills recognise excellence in journalism across all disciplines: print, digital, TV and radio and this is Quill number nine for the 3AW stalwart.

Mitchell took out the Best Radio Current Affairs Report for his piece that exposed a loophole in the law around the drug testing of drivers involved in fatal accidents.

The ABC’s Jon Faine and his team were highly commended for their expose of the unions Royal Commission.

Police reporter Yvette Gray made it a clean sweep for 3AW in the radio categories, winning the 2014 Quill for Best Radio News Report for her work on the Numan Haider case.

The ABC’s Alison Savage was highly commended in this category for her piece on rogue MP Geoff Shaw and a hallway interview she secured.

With the Melbourne Press Club Quill Awards done and dusted for another year, it’s time to start think about your entry for the 2016 Quills.

The Quills are open to journalists and digital content teams, whose work is published in Victoria.  It’s open to Melbourne Press Club members and non-members.
