With all the talk today of WSFM going #1FM for the first time, taking 2Day FM out of the position they held for 7 years, we dug up the below newspaper article from March 1992 when 2Day FM went #1 overall for the first time.
They took Triple M out of the top spot that they held for 22 consecutive surveys.

Liam Renton, host of breakfast on Brisbane's 96five, recently mentioned on-air that he once took a photo of Rob Duckworth, from the 90s Triple M Brisbane breakfast show 'Gibson & Duckworth', to the hairdresser and asked for the Duck Cut.
Later that day, Liam's daughters teacher said she heard that break from the show and that she had some old tapes at home of Gibson & Duckworth.

No idea why, perhaps it was hearing Nickelback on three radio stations at the one time earlier today, but we were reminded of a classic segment on Get This, with Tony Martin, Ed Kavalee and the late Richard Marsland.

Paul Thompson is an absolute legend of the Australian radio industry. He deserves our respect and admiration, but sorry PT, we just had to show this appearance on Adelaide TV show 'Touch of Elegance' from September 1981.
As the General Manager of Double SAFM he appeared on the show to inform Adelaide viewers about the change to FM and take them on a tour of the station.
