Carrie Bickmore & Tommy Little for new Hit Network show

Gold Logie winner Carrie Bickmore is set to return to the network that launched her career next month, co-hosting a new show with comedian, Tommy Little.

Live at 3pm on weekdays across the Hit Network's 43 stations, SCA is promising its listeners an hour of "do-not-miss radio" starting Monday 13 February.

Gemma Fordham, The Hit Network’s head of content, said that the first time she met Carrie, she was immediately struck by her “realness”.

"She calls it as she sees it, but has enormous compassion and can connect with everyone from everyday Aussies out in the suburbs to Hollywood megastars.

"I think that’s why the nation has taken her in to their hearts – people know they are getting the real deal with Carrie. Tommy is one of the best comedians out there; he owns the room with his stand-up comedy and media appearances and is one of the most exciting performers going around right now.

"We can’t wait to start the drive home from 3pm with Carrie & Tommy followed by Hamish & Andy,” Fordham said.

Carrie is no stranger to radio, having worked on air for almost ten years before joining Channel 10’s The Project as co-host and picking up a Gold Logie along the way. She started her career on Perth’s Hit 92.9 FM in 1999 and has chosen the Hit Network for her long-awaited return to the airwaves.

Carrie said: “I’m so excited about returning to radio! I love that immediate interaction you get with listeners and the unpredictability that comes with it. I am really looking forward to having some fun talking about the things I’m passionate about and find amusing”

Tommy said: “I can’t wait to return to radio with my mate Carrie. She is the best. She’s caring, lovely and professional.  l plan to be the opposite of those things. We’re going to have a lot of fun together!”

It's been a big week of news for the Hit Network; Matt Anderson exited his CD post in Sydney, hours later Jase Allen was confirmed as his successor, then a string of weekend breakfast shows were announced in metro and regional markets. And let's not forget Ed Sheeran on the World Famous Rooftop - a survey #1 tactic which kicks off Monday.

Congrats to the both of them. Personally I'm not a fan of a 3-4 show and I'd prefer music during that time. I'm wondering if this is a tester to see if they can take the full drive spot next year.

I can see a big switchover from ARN'/ 3pm pick up.
Carrie what a coup SCA. Looks like Hit has its swagger back.
Meshel\\\'s heart (23:31 19 Jan 2017)
I bet Meshel Laurie is upset that she's not teamed up with Tommy for her 3pm pick up.

Or maybe Meshel isn't returning?

Good one Carrie. I knew one of the stations would snag ya soon.

Bet Rove is rolling around in his grave wondering why he's still stuck with Frost instead of partnering with Carrie

Good work sca Now KIIS need to come up with a better 3pm show

I would like to hear a group PD talk to the value of a 3PM Show, aside from saving royalties. Why uninterrupted music isn't important in that hour... Is it all about mums picking up kids. Are they actually listening then. What are the spilts like in that hour? What are the female "perceptuals" on Carrie. My wife doesn't like her at all. I don't get it. Is it purely to sell into clients and there is no real proof of any of it. I would hate to think that something DB inherited at KIIS was being replicated for the wrong reasons.

This looks like a sales play.

Also not the first foray into a 3pm show for SCA either. Remember MammaMia

Good talent get - Boring idea.

Also - What demo is 2Day chasing? I'm so confused?

well done Carrie maybe if your a big hit you might replace Hamish and Andy when they finish at the end of the year and you have drive or maybe breakfast
PJC(23:24 22 Jan 2017)
So Carrie & Tommy at 3pm and Rove & Sam at 7pm.. could this be SCA road testing potential new Drive show talent for 2018?

Nice work though Gemma.. big thumbs up!
Question?(1:19 23 Jan 2017)
How is this all working with Carrie's Project commitments - Is it pre-recorded? Surely she has to be at Channel 10 by 3pm for planning, dressing, hair and make up etc.
