SCA poach Nova Brekky show

Staff Writer

There have been unconfirmed rumours for a few days now that dmg Radio were about to lose their Adelaide breakfast show to Southern Cross Austereo. Today those rumours have been confirmed.

Two of the three members of the Nova 919 Breakfast show, Maz Compton and Dan Debuf have quit Nova to join SCA.

DMG programmer Paul Jackson has told staff about Maz and Dan's exit; "I’m sure they’ll remain fully committed to their friends and colleagues at Nova for the remainder of this year".

In the internal dmg announcement, Jackson has said that Maz and Dan will be hosting the SCA national Hot 30 from 2013, however SCA have denied this. In a statement, SCA PR Manager Vicki Heath has told Radio Today;

"We are always considering how our lineup looks year by year, but this is pure speculation".

In Adelaide, the resignations leave Nova 919 without a Breakfast show for 2013, and without a Program Director. The third member of the Adelaide show, Shane Lowe, will reportedly remain with dmg.
