Vale Steve Swadling

Kevin Blyton, Managing Director of Capital Radio has announced some sad news today:

"Steve Swadling passed away at Goulburn Hospital this morning. He was with his wife and family.

Steve was 58 years old – a good man – he certainly didn’t deserve to go so young and in the way he did.

He worked for us for 23 years and was the longest serving employee of the Capital Radio Network.

He was the General Manager of our Radio Operations in Goulburn, past Deputy Mayor of Goulburn, current President of the Goulburn Soldiers Club and he won the Commercial Radio Australia award for Best Regional Station Manager some years back.

His family are naturally very distressed and our thoughts should be with them now."

I worked for Steve for 2 and a half years. We had our differences and clashed a few times but respected each others work. I will forever be thankful of the references he wrote for me which led to me winning 3 ACRA's. My condolences go to his family...he was well loved by them. I'm sure many in Goulburn will miss him, his passion for the town was more than what I ever saw from anyone. RIP Steve.

My company has looked after the entertainment interests of the Goulburn Soldiers club for over a decade now and I dealt with Steve back in 2009 when organizing entertainment for a radio station function.
I found him to be a very nice man and an absolute gentleman...please accept our best wishes and condolences.

I trained with Steve to be a celebrant. He made the training great fun and we worked as a great team. When he did his first funeral he email me and when i did my first he email back saying Your flying now . A man that i will never forget,a gentleman,passi on for life,a good man.Fly high Steve.
