2Day FM to change their name

Okay okay….it's only for 1 day.

2Day FM will become 2Gay FM this Saturday in support of marriage equality and to celebrate Mardi Gras.

Everything on-air will change – promotions, imaging, presenters, the website – everything !!!

"2DayFM are strong believers of marriage equality and the station hopes to make a difference in Australia, big or small."

Newsreader Geoff Field has told the Gay News Network:

“I especially would like to thank Jackie O, Ellie Mobbs, Dan ‘Mandy Cassin’, Hamish and Andy and Fifi and Jules for their support of the cause. These people are always caring and respectful, and of course it was an honour to be given the opportunity to stage Australia’s first gay wedding on national radio and TV.

It’s also been great to be allowed to be open about my sexuality on-air with such supportive colleagues.”

Interestingly, he seemed to have left out Kyle – mmmmmm.
