Triple M comes back to Perth

Staff Writer

From September 2, Triple M will be heard in Perth on digital radio. Last time the Triple M brand was used in the west was in the early 90s when 96FM was then 6MMM.

"With a strong heritage of playing the best rock music over the past 33 years, Triple M will play real rock, no exceptions, all day long. It’s Perth’s newest radio station, bringing with it a real music alternative," says the SCA press release.

What the station will also deliver into Perth is their AFL call, saying "it will offer a genuine alternative to tired, old AM football coverage."

Linda Wayman, GM of SCA in Perth says:

“We’re thrilled to now be able to offer the people of Perth access to what is one of Australia’s most iconic stations ever. It’s a very exciting addition to SCA’s radio portfolio.”

Jaime Chaux, Digital Radio Content Director, SCA says:

“SCA has invested in digital radio to build a great portfolio of new stations and new sounds for audiences. Our next step – bringing Triple M to Perth, gives the city a real music alternative and Australia’s best AFL coverage. We can’t wait to turn it on!”
