Have Merrick & The Highway Patrol been shown the door ?

The Daily Telegraph have today reported that Triple M's drive show, Merrick & The Highway Patrol, are not being re-signed for 2014.

The show features Merrick Watts, Julian Schiller and Rachel Corbett.

The trio were apparently told yesterday of the move, with Jules joking on Twitter this morning, saying:
 

Whether or not the move is a cost savings exercise so the network can pay Kyle Sandilands more, it is unclear.

SCA's PR rep Lisa Schillaci said she "can't confirm or deny. If Triple M has an announcement to make, you'll be sure to hear from me."

Merrick told the Tele "nothing happened on air today at all, or not that I've been alerted to."

Something is definitely going on but the network refuse to make further comment until later today. Standby for more.
