The 2Day FM breakfast rumour mill cranks up

It's now 2 weeks since Kyle & Jackie O announced their departure from 2Day FM and the rumour mill is continuing to twist and turn as everyone wants to find out who will be the new breakfast show on the Sydney station.

Jules Lund seems to be the common thread in all the speculation going around with others rumoured to be part of the new show being Jackie O (if she doesn't find a gig with Kyle), Sophie Monk (although we hear that's probably not on the cards) and now Merrick Watts.

But a Facebook group called 'Merrick, Jules & Rach' was started earlier this week with a post from Rachel Corbett saying:

Which suggests the trio are hoping to stay together, maybe at 2Day FM ?

Could it be the 'Merrick, Jules, Rach, Jules, Sophie and Jackie O Show' ? (nice ring to it don't you think 😉

Head of Content at SCA, Craig Bruce, told PS in Fairfax:

"We are a long way down the track though nothing is finalised at this stage. There are no contracts in place but we have a fair idea of who we will be working with."

"We have tested more than a dozen people. Some of them have been international celebrities who have expressed a keen interest in doing the show and others have been very big names in Sydney … I can't confirm anything yet but clearly Jules has done some terrific work and has partnered with Sophie before with great success and there is no denying Merrick's ability … but there have been many other names we have spoken to and tested."

In other words, 'might be them, might not be them, I know but I'm not ready to tell you'.

With only 2 weeks left of the survey year, it won't be long before all is revealed.
