Afternoon host exits Fiveaa

Staff Writer

Nearly 18 months after she replaced Amanda Blair on the Fiveaa afternoon shift, Belinda Heggen is packing up and moving interstate with her family.

Her husband has been offered a great job opportunity in Sydney.

Belinda said, “It’s been an absolute privilege to sit behind the microphone at FIVEaa each day – chatting, debating and laughing with Adelaide. I thank my listeners for sharing their afternoons with me and putting up with me belting out the occasional Michael Bolton hit. I wish my successor all the very best.”

dmg Adelaide GM Peter Maynard said, “Belinda is a great announcer and a respected member of the FIVEaa team. We fully support her decision to do the best thing for her family and wish her well with the move to Sydney.”

Belinda will do her last Fiveaa shift on December 13.

An announcement regarding her replacement will be made shortly.

This comes after Fiveaa breakfast host Keith Conlon retired after 13 years on the talk station.

Rumour is that replacing Conlon, and joining Jane Reilly, will be Mix 102.3's Mark Aiston and Sunday Mail Editor David Penberthy, according to InDaily.
