Canberra Survey 1 released

The first Canberra survey result for 2014 has been released, the first under GfK.

The analysis is below……

104.7 hold onto the #1 position for the 15th consecutive survey although dropped 1.0 overall. They are now only 1.6 in front of new second placers Mix 106.3. While the station remain #1 under 40 they only gained with 18-24's (up 12.3) but lost some share 25+.

In the last survey with Nielsen, Scotty & Nige were 6 points clear of ABC666 at breakfast. In this first survey under GfK, Philip Clark (right) has taken the lead at breakfast, now on 20.1%, 1.5 in front of 104.7.

Drive on 104.7 remain #1 in the market with mornings up 1.2, arvos up 0.3 and nights down 2.4.

Mix 106.3 are now back to #2. They are up 2.0 to be on 15.9%. Mix are up 12.3 with 10-17's and over 40 increased their lead 40-54 (up 3.3) and 55-64 up 7.8 and now #2 in that demo (they were #5).

Kristen & Rod (left) are up 3.0 and jump from 5th to 3rd at breakfast in Canberra. This is their first survey together after Kristen replaced Biggzy last year.

Mornings were down a fraction but still #1 while arvos increased by 0.9 to be the highest rating shift on the station. Drive also went up 2.9 and are 2nd in Canberra behind 104.7. Nights had a strong lift, up 5.8.

ABC666 drop back to 3rd in Canberra even though they increased share by 1.5. They will be focusing on their breakfast result with that shift up 3.4 and now #1 on 20.1%. Mornings also went up 3.4 with arvos and drive also slightly up. Nights continues to have a commanding lead with 21.8% and nearly 10 points clear of #2 (Mix).

Their strength in 65+ saw them go up 5.3 and now #1 in that demo on 28.2%. Although they dropped 2.2 with 55-64 they are still #1 on 22.8%

triple j went down 2.0 this survey. They went up 4.9 with 10-17's but lost share 18+. Breakfast is down 2.9, now 5th.

The other ABC stations, Radio National and ABCFM, had a mixed result with RN going down 2.4 to now be on 6.9% (6th) and ABCFM up 0.2 to 10.2% (5th).

The Capital Network stations had a mixed result also with 2CA up 0.1 to 6.1% (from 7th to 8th) while 2CC went up 2.0, now on 6.6% and 7th in the market.
