TRN boss becomes APN NZ CEO

Staff Writer

APN News and Media, who own the Australian Radio Network (ARN) in Australia and The Radio Network (TRN) in New Zealand, have appointed a new CEO for the NZ business.

Jane Hastings, who is currently CEO of TRN, will now be in charge of the company's New Zealand publishing, radio and digital businesses.

The move comes as Martin Simons, CEO of APN's publishing business – NZ Media – steps down to take up a trans-Tasman consultancy role. This allows the company to have one CEO to oversee what was, in the past, independently operated arms of the business.

APN CEO Michael Miller said: "Jane's appointment will enable more strategic collaboration across APN's New Zealand businesses, including greater cross-selling opportunities for our media brands, which will better meet the needs of our clients and deliver improved performance for shareholders."

The changes take effect from May 12.
