First there was Songl – now there’s Songl Solutions

Staff Writer

The venture between SCA, SMEA and UMA which was DMD, doesn’t have an acronym   but a new name –

Songl Solutions.

Digital Music Distribution (DMD) is the company behind Foxtel’s 24/7 – 32 channel music service – Foxtel Music and is jointly owned by Southern Cross Austereo, Sony Music Entertainment Australia  and Universal Music Australia.

They have rebranded and refocused Songl Solutions to leverage it's core business with Foxtel and supplying music options to Satellite Music Australia (SMA).

With demand increasing for streaming services, SCA also confirmed it's commitment and current investment in Omny. It’s one of the world's first personalised radio products that mixes premium broadcast content from radio personalities with the music of the mobile user. Having successfully launched Omny as a Beta in Melbourne earlier this year, it is now planning it's international expansion.

Guy Dobson, SCA Chief Content Officer said, “The new future of SCA has an increased focus on music, understanding the role it plays for consumers and brands alike. The partner combination currently in place with Omny is strong and we are also looking forward to a year of success driven out of product innovation to achieve boundary-pushing business to business experiences that give brands direct access to music solutions.”
