Triple M Hot Breakfast Locked Away

Staff Writer

The Ink’s finally dried with SCA announcing three-year contract renewals for Eddie McGuire, Mick Molloy and Luke Darcy for the Triple M Hot Breakfast.

A few weeks back, when we spoke to Group Content Director Craig Bruce asking if the boys were locked away for 2015 he said:

“Yeah, having consistency in breakfast is critical for every station's success and 3MMM is no different….."

“… In my opinion on their day they are the best show in the country by a country mile and we are absolutely wrapped to have them on board. By the way Luke, Eddie, Mick even Rosie – the chemistry in that studio, that is incredibly precious and we are happy to have them on-board for a couple of more years.”

On the deal Eddie McGuire said, “I’m delighted to continue my long association with Triple M, particularly alongside my colleagues Mick Molloy & Luke Darcy on the Hot Breakfast. The rebuilding of Triple M has been one of the most enjoyable projects that I’ve been involved with in media.

The confidence shown by Southern Cross Austereo to invest in the Hot Breakfast for another three years, gives us a great platform to continue a unique show which pulls together breaking stories, strong opinion, hyper local content, comedy and great Triple M music.

The other area of tremendous satisfaction for me has been developing a relationship, not only with our listeners, but with our commercial partners. I look forward with the visibility of three years, to working with the Triple M team to further provide innovative sales solutions and continuing to build the business.”

Southern Cross Austereo Melbourne General Manager Cathy Thomas said, "We couldn't be more excited to re-sign Eddie, Mick and Darce to Triple M for the next three years. Every morning, they embody Triple M's unique offering of Sport, Rock and Comedy, along with current affairs that matter to Melbourne and all of Australia. We are thrilled they will remain an integral part of SCA and Triple M, and can't wait to see what new heights they will take The Hot Breakfast to over the next three years.”
