Big name coming for SCA

Southern Cross Austereo is holding a Production Session for its Audio Producers on the ACRA's weekend in October.

Last year saw SCA audio producers come from all over the country to enjoy the session.

This year, Brendan Tacey, SCA’s National Head of Production has announced that New York's Z100 Creative Services Director, Dave Foxx (pictured), will be joining the production session.

“This has been a 10+ year dream and goal of mine, to hold a Production Day on this level and to have someone of Dave’s standing in the Industry be a part of that day. Our production team is world class, and the future of it is looking real good with the acquisition of some super talented producers over the last 12+ months… and to ensure their success and the ongoing success of our existing producers… a day like this is so important for everyone’s development”.

SCA’s commitment to training and education through initiatives like CB’s Content Grad School, The SCA Content Hub on Facebook and Sam Cavanaghs Producer Conference impress BT...

“In my in my 12 years with Austereo and now SCA, I have never seen more investment in the Content / Programming side of the business. It really is a positive sign for not just our people, but the industry as a whole”

Check out this fascinating video of Dave Foxx in action (he's even smoking in the studio !!!!)...

Big props to our fearless emperor BT for hooking this up. Can't wait!
Abe Udy(8:33am 19 Jul 2012)
That's an awesome 'get' guys!
Anonymous(10:27am 19 Jul 2012)
Wonder what he'll say about your restructuring on the gold coast with those two producers boned this week? Is this the beginning of things to come in the hub town land of SCA? With audio guys voicing everything and 4 or 5 imaging guys making 150 stations worth of stuff. Will Foxx only be talking to 4 people about imaging?
Anonymous(10:30am 19 Jul 2012)
Do they have an production guys left who would actually get anything out of this?
It seems all the regional producers are being made redundant and replaced with audio visual producers
Anonymous(11:08am 19 Jul 2012)
It's gonna be a room full of 6 people and some poor commercial guys from Albury and the Gold Coast saying, 'what's killer hertz, is that that noisey stuff I torrented but am not meant to use'? Good luck BT you took the reigns at an interesting time. I bet everyone else wanted the job mate?
Daryl Missen(12:56pm 19 Jul 2012)
What a ground breaking initiative. Brendan Tacey has displayed great leadership organising Dave Foxx, one of the world's all time best radio creatives. There is NO doubt the room will be packed to the rafters. The rest of us radio production people will have seminar envy!
Well done Dobbo, CB and BT.
Matt Nikolic(13:19pm 19 Jul 2012)
Great job BT - I never thought I'd see the day! It's going to be an inspiring day for the old hands and all of our up and coming talent, and I can't wait to see what unfolds.
Dom Evans(13:24pm 19 Jul 2012)
I'm going to be there and I'm really looking forward to it!
Dave Fixx(13:39pm 19 Jul 2012)
Will Radio Today please comment on the 2 commercial producer's made redundant on the Gold Coast and why this was the case? What was once the flagship regional hub to the older networks. Ask the questions please, they just had two vision jobs going. Did those 2 guys not want to skill up, whats the future here at SCA with content producers of every facet, digital, vision or audio??? Get someone on to interview please Radio Today. Keep it up Daz, and you might get an invite.
dc(13:59pm 19 Jul 2012)
ahh Anonymous, always happy to take pot shots at someone who is doing a great thing for his trade and the people he works with.
Why don't you reveal yourself?
As for BT and his initiative to not only organise a production seminar for his team but also attract one of THE best producers in the world to talk to and work with his team - only great admiration and thanks can go to him.
Great work BT
David Konsky(15:56pm 19 Jul 2012)
Daz - you'll "missen" out :) Going to be a stellar event.
Kyal(15:57pm 19 Jul 2012)
Super Proud to be heading along in october! Well done BT & everyone involved!
CB(16:15pm 19 Jul 2012)
To the anons... they way I read it, there about 2 new purely audio gigs on the Gold Coast. They might be involved with TV, but it's my understanding that radio producers would be a perfect fit.
Restructures suck, but they happen when companies merge, more efficient ways of doing things are discovered... and at least some new jobs were created here, rather than none.

Dave Foxx sounds like an amazing get. I love his voice!
KR(18:26pm 19 Jul 2012)
Well said CB, There are more efficient ways of doing things, we can always streamline and management hate doing it, it's just business..... Wouldn't like to be on the fringe at SCA right now.
Silver lining, less staff means more sweet guests at conferences. Which is great for the staff that's left!

What does Foxxey know about TV production?
Dan King(19:22pm 19 Jul 2012)
Foxx it up you crazy kids. Get your Foxx on. Foxx on the run, sweet!
Gunner (The Wasp)(19:27pm 19 Jul 2012)
Blacko and Honky Tonk Konk... get ready to feel that R & flo!!! BRO!!!!
Flounce(7:39am 20 Jul 2012)
Hate to cliche my own cliche's, but "what a treat!" wanted to see Dave foxconn for Yeats - have fun people!
Sebastian Bustamante(11:00am 20 Jul 2012)
Great work BT! Looking forward to attending this year. Last years was great, this year will be even better!
Dennis Guthrie(11:50am 20 Jul 2012)
Well... Anonymous you have lots to say about things you know nothing about.

Should you wish to know what happened in regard to the restructure on the gold coast call me.

My name is Dennis Guthrie and i am the Head of Vision and Audio on the Gold Coast. The team we are building here will be well equipped to take on the challenges associated with our Multimedia company for now and well into the future.

What would Dave Foxx say about restructuring in any company...Let me take a guess....With all restructures comes oportunity for those who want to go after it.
If you dont seize the oportunities that come knocking on your door. Then you will probably end up becoming another Anonymous....who no-one pays any attention too.
