Kaley Baker to depart Power FM 949 Breakfast show

Former Editor & Content Director

Power FM 949 in Nowra is on the hunt for a new Breakfast announcer.

Current co-host Kaley Baker is on the move from the NSW South Coast station to take up a post at Star 101.9 in Mackay, Queensland. Both stations are owned by Grant Broadcasters.

At Star, Baker will be filling in for Rachel Zonta while she is on maternity leave. Sam & Rach, with co-host Sam Blacker, was picked up by Grant Broadcasters after being cut from Southern Cross Austereo’s (SCA) Hit Network.

To replace Baker, Power FM said applicants needed strong people skills, a desire to connect with the local Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands communities, a love of radio, and the know-how to connect with a 25+ audience.

They need a minimum of two years on air.

Applications are open until 5pm on Friday, May 7. Interested parties should send their CV, a recent aircheck and a cover letter to Mandy Coolen.

In addition, Grant Broadcasters confirmed Rob Gooda, long-tome newsreader has retired.

Content director across 2ST and power FM, Coolen, said it’s very sad to see him go.

“We’ll miss his beautiful soothing voice and crazy flamingo shirts,” she said.
