Alan Jones is returning in another form

Veteran Radio and TV presenter Alan Jones has announced his next endeavour in the form of a new digital TV show, Alan Jones Directly to the People.

The former 2GB breakfast host recently finished up his Sky News program on pay tv.

Alan Jones is no stranger to controversy, with some comments that saw him breach more media regulator standards than most.

One of the more recent noteworthy comments being from his 2GB interview with Prime Minister Scott Morrison where he encouraged Mr Morrison to, shove a sock down New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinta Ardern’s throat.

With that in mind, it comes as no surprise that Jones receives a lot of engagement on social media, and that is precisely the reason why he has been encouraged to start a digital program.

“There is a resonance and a reach [on social media],” he said.

“It is very much the tomorrow of media. We’ll cover issues of major significance. There are a couple of elections coming up. It will be free and available everywhere for people to access. So it’s onwards and upwards.”

The show will debut next Monday, December 13, and Mr Jones says that there is a demographic that wants his input on events right now.

“I think what Australia is desperately needing now… is [for people not to feel like they can’t say] what they believe. This will be a chance for people … to say what they think, to have a view,” said Jones.

“I’ll be saying things sometimes that other people feel uncomfortable saying.”

‘Alan Jones Directly to the People,’ will be streamed on social media platforms, podcasted and available on his website from next week.

The success of the program’s first week is reviewed here.

God save us from this toxic old man who obviously doesn’t have a life outside of listening to his own voice and winding up similarly toxic malcontents. He has no insight to the fact that admiration from some quarters is a further validation of toxicity rather than information or discussion of anything with substance.
