Allan Sheppard to return to Australia as ops manager for Hit 104.7 & Mix 106.3

Former Editor & Content Director

Allan Sheppard is coming back to Australia, taking up the role of operations manager for Hit 104.7 and Mix 106.3 in Canberra.

The stations are run as a joint venture between ARN and Southern Cross Austereo (SCA).

Sheppard has worked for both organisations before in production roles.

Between 2015 and 2017 he was assistant producer on ARN’s 97.3 Breakfast show, Robin, Terry & Bob.

In November 2016, ARN didn’t renew Robin Bailey’s contract, and she was picked up by SCA’s Triple M in Brisbane, launching Marto, Ed & Robin alongside Greg Martin and Ed Kavalee.

Sheppard left ARN soon after, becoming executive producer of Breakfast in Gosford for 2GO (now Triple M). The program was initially fronted by Sarah King and Paddy Gerrard. The duo was then replaced by comedian Akmal Saleh and Mandy Coolen.

Sheppard then moved across the ditch to New Zealand, becoming assistant content director of NZME.

In a ‘life update’ on LinkedIn, Sheppard said he’s decided it’s now time to move home to Australia.

He noted his achievements in NZ included mentoring some future radio stars and conducting a full review of The Hits digital and audio strategy, which identified opportunities to build and grow audiences on platforms including Facebook, Instagram TikTok and iHeartRadio.
