Stav, Abby & Matt recruit Ashleigh Smith as EP
B105’s Stav, Abby & Matt Breakfast show has filled the void which will be left by executive producer Siobhan McDonnell when she goes on maternity leave next month.
Stepping into the position is Ashleigh Smith, who most recently has been producing the Hit NSW statewide Breakfast show, Gawndy & Maz, in Gosford.
Prior to that, Smith was a content producer on The Kyle & Jackie O Show on KIIS, as well as a stint as EP of the Hit 106.9 Breakfast show.
She takes on the Brisbane-based role on September 6, and has been we;welcomed bu B105 content director, Jack Ball.
“Ashleigh is one of the most naturally talented producers in the country and we’re looking forward to her officially joining the team and making her mark as EP,” he told Radio Today.
An internal memo to SCA’s Brisbane staff, seen by Radio Today, echoed this sentiment and said Smith was one of the most promising producers in the country who “stood head and shoulders clear of her competition for this role”.
James Speed, the group content director for Hit and Triple M across the Central Coast, Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour, said in a note to staff earlier this month that Smith’s promotion was the “worst kept secret in the building”.
He also thanked Smith for being a great and supportive member of the team.
“Coming into this role, I’ve heard noting but amazing things about you from everyone and plenty about your dedication to making great content,” Speed added. “I’m sure everyone would agree you’ve been wonderful to have around and work alongside.”
Gawndy & Maz’s executive producer Matt Lucas will continue to run the NSW Breakfast show.
