Hamish & Andy reclaim #1 spot on Australian Podcast Ranker

LiSTNR’s Hamish & Andy program has nudged back up into the #1 spot on the Australian Podcast Ranker.

When the Podcast Ranker first debuted, tracking data for September 2019, the podcast was in the #1 position. More recently, however, it’s been behind Casefile True Crime and Stuff You Should Know. 

This month, however, the LiSTNR production swapped places with Casefile True Crime to become #1.

The Kyle & Jackie O Show – with 110 separate episodes to Hamish & Andy’s four – crept up to #3, overtaking Stuff You Should Know. Life Uncut with Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne remained in the #5 spot.

All podcasts in the top five, except Hamish & Andy, are part of ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network.

Big movers this month include Nine Radio’s radio catch-up podcast Ben Fordham Live (up 10 places to #26), NOVA Entertainment Podcast Network’s It’s A Lot With Abbie Chatfield (up 12 places to #33), LiSTNR’s Just The Gist (up 15 places to #37), and Nine Radio’s The Ray Hadley Morning Show (up 21 places to #40).

The Morning Crew with Hughesy, Ed & Erin, the catch-up podcast for 2DayFM Sydney’s Breakfast show, fell 14 places to #100.

The ranker is an industry initiative and is published by Triton Digital in accordance with IAB Tech Lab’s Podcast Measurement Guidelines.

ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network remained the top publisher in terms of monthly downloads, and there was no movement within the top 10.

Monthly downloads fell slightly from last month, down from 49.9 million to 47.8 million, however were up on July 2020’s figure of 43.6 million.

Participating publishers in the Australian Ranker include ARN/iHeartMedia, Audioboom, Babyology, Diamantina, Kinderling Kids Radio, News Corp Australia, Nine, Nova, Podshape, Schwartz Media, Southern Cross Austereo, Sports Entertainment Network, Stitcher Media, TOFOP Productions, Wavelength Creative, West Australian Newspapers, and Wondery.
