Barry Keohane resigns from ARN, with Richie Wright promoted to Adelaide content director

Former Editor & Content Director

Australian Radio Network (ARN) has a new content director in Adelaide following the resignation of Barry Keohane.

Keohane joined ARN in June last year as content director across Mix102.3 and CRUISE1323. Previously, he was content director at ABC Adelaide.

Replacing him at ARN is Richie Wright, currently assistant content director for Sydney’s KIIS 1065. Throughout his time with ARN, Wright has also been a producer on the Kyle & Jackie O Show, as well as KIIS Network’s national night show. In addition, he hosted The Voice radio show across the national network.

His new Adelaide-based role starts on Monday.

ARN’s national content director Duncan Campbell said he’s looking forward to seeing Wright lead the Adelaide team to even greater ratings success.

“It’s always a rewarding feeling to be able to promote from within the company, and Richie has the experience and skills to take on the role of content director in Adelaide,” he added.

Wright said he’s looking forward to helping the stations and its shows “sparkle” even more.

“I’m really excited to join the team in Adelaide and bring my love of radio to a new market,” he said. “Mix is a strong brand, has a heritage Breakfast show and a team full of great people. I can’t wait to help it sparkle even brighter and further grow its market dominance.”

In the most recent radio ratings survey, Mix102.3 held onto its market-leading position, with a13.0% share, up from 11.9% earlier in the year.

Its Breakfast show Jodie & Soda lost the top FM spot to Nova’s Ben & Liam, but remained relatively steady on a 10.5% share, only down from 10.6% in the previous survey.
