Nova’s Chrissie Swan to host Australia’s Would I Lie To You?

Former Editor & Content Director

Nova 100’s Breakfast co-host in Melbourne, Chrissie Swan, has a new television gig as the host of the Australian iteration of internationally acclaimed comedy series Would I Lie To You?

The series will screen on Channel 10 and 10 Play next year, and Swan will be joined by team captains The Chaser’s Chris Taylor and comedian Frank Woodley.

Channel 10 said each week a stellar line-up of celebrity and comedic guests will reveal amazing and bizarre stories about themselves – some true, some, not so much.

The aim of the game is to confuse the opponents into believing the lies are true stories, and the true stories are made up.

Daniel Monaghan, senior vice president of content and programming at Channel 10’s owner ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand, played on the truth and lies concept when revealing the program.

“I’m not going to lie to you – viewers on Network 10 are going to absolutely fall in love with Would I Lie To You? Australia – and that’s the honest truth,” he said.

The show will be produced by Endemol Shine Australia. CEO Peter Newman said the company is delighted to bring the UK hit to local shores.

“We are absolutely delighted to bring one of the world’s greatest comedy panel shows to Australian audiences. Would I Lie To You? is a wonderfully simple and hilarious game where lying is not only required, but elevated into a side-splittingly funny competition.

“We can’t wait to get Australian families playing along – pick the facts from the fibs – and laughing out loud at the impossibly absurd stories of our captains and guests.”

On Instagram, Swan said she was beside herself about securing the hosting gig as it was a dream come true.
