DM Podcasts launches two new original titles

DM Podcasts has shared details of two new original podcast series and released the second season of Marty Smiley and Matt Damena’s Housewarming.

Launching this week, The Dirt Down Under sees Shark Week’s Paul De Gelder team up with champion free diver and filmmaker Julia Wheeler to discuss the stigma, rumours and gossip that surrounds climate conservation.

In each episode Wheeler and De Gelder discuss topics such as deforestation, plastic pollution, nutrition, climate change and marine conservation with a number of industry experts, highlighting the importance of encouraging a more sustainable lifestyle to listeners.

DM Podcasts is also set to launch an Olympic-themed spin-off of its popular Australian comedy podcast Have A Go on Friday July 23, coinciding with the start of the Tokyo Olympics.

The podcast will poke fun at the various Australian athletes who have signed up for the “international super-spreader event”, with co-host Dave Edwards saying the podcast will allow for a two-week stint of “glorious sporting nationalism” to distract from our COVID woes.

“We’re actively encouraging all Australians to suspend all their existential fears and anxieties over the pandemic, and instead pour all that energy into supporting largely unknown, amateur athletes in various obscure events over the next two weeks,” Edwards said.

Meanwhile, Housewarming’s second season is set to return on Wednesday, July 21, with hosts Marty Smiley and Nat Damena continuing to explore the various rules of sharehouse living and housemate etiquette.

Episode one will feature an appearance from I’m A Celebrity Australia 2021 winner and runner-up of The Bachelor 2019 Abbie Chatfield – who also hosts the It’s A Lot podcast with NOVA Entertainment – with other guests locked in for the podcast’s second season including Daniel Sloss, Linda Marigliano, Aaron Chen and Sam Taunton.
