Ed Sheeran to do special Nova Red Room livestream to support album release

Australia’s roadmap to COVID-19 recovery still doesn’t enable many businesses to plan for live music gigs this year, so Nova is instead reviving its Red Room livestream series.

The next performance will be by UK superstar Ed Sheeran, who will perform from London on Friday, October 29, coinciding with the release of his latest studio album = (Equals).

The performance will be Sheeran’s fourth in Nova’s Red Room, including appearances at the Bucket List in Bondi and the Sydney Opera House.

The event will be hosted by Nova Nights’ Kent ‘Smallzy’ Small and feature support from up-and-coming UK artist Maisie Peters, whose debut album You Signed Up For This will be released via Sheeran’s Gingerbread Man Records.

Fans who want access to the event need to listen to the Nova Network and enter via the Nova Player app.

NOVA Entertainment’s chief programming and marketing officer, Paul Jackson, said Nova had supported Sheeran from when he was a virtually unknown singer.

“Ed Sheeran is an incredible artist. From performing at Nova’s reception, to the Bucket List in Bondi and Nova’s Red Room Global Tour, we knew he was something special from the very start and have been so proud to support his career. We can’t wait to share this experience with his Australian fans,” he said.

Earlier this year, Nova unlocked a series of archived Red Room performances, allowing fans to stream the old events via the Nova Player app.
