Former iHeartRadio COO Geraint Davies joins GAMURS

Former Editor & Content Director

iHeartRadio Australia’s former chief operating officer, Geraint Davies, has landed his next role, this time with esports and entertainment media network, GAMURS Group.

Davies has also been COO at Austereo and APN Outdoor, as well as CEO at Horizon Media. He takes on  the newly created COO role with GAMURS Group effective immediately.

He will be charged with managing the operations of GAMURS, crafting and leading the strategic direction of the company.

Davies said he is excited about making the transition from the radio and audio sectors to the billion-dollar arena of esport and entertainment publishing.

“I am delighted to join GAMURS Group at such an exciting time in its development,” he said. “The lines between computer games, movies, sports and entertainment are rapidly merging. With a powerhouse of online brands in each of these sectors, the group is ideally positioned to continue its fast profit growth and global audience reach.”

He will report to the company’s founder and CEO, Riad Chikhani, who said Davies’ wealth of experience will help the company redefine gaming and entertainment around the world.

“The GAMURS Group is at a pivotal stage of growth and it is the perfect time to bring on someone with Geraint’s experience,” he said. “His background in media of all genres – including cinema, outdoor and audio – spans an impressive 30-plus years.

“I am excited to welcome Geraint who brings a level of execution that can build on what we do well, expand on it and take it to the next level.

“We have quickly moved from a small media offering to a multi-masthead operator, with a reach that has grown from serving nine million readers to over 40 million in under two years. We are growing at a rapid rate and gaining Geraint will in turn help with our expansion, but also with our existing staff, giving them an opportunity to grow with the business, which is what is most exciting to me.”

GAMURS offers services including influencer activations, digital advertising, native content and sponsorships, helping marketers reach gamers around the world. It has worked with brands including McDonald’s, Red Bull and Intel.

This year, Davies was also appointed chair of Musicians Making A Difference (MMAD).
