Central Coast’s Hit101.3 launches its own beer with Bay Rd Brewing

Central Coast’s Hit101.3 Brekky team Gawndy & Ash have released their very own beer, thanks to a partnership with local brewer Bay Rd Brewing.

‘Out Of The Haze’ is a hazy pale ale that is now available for a limited time, developed in celebration of the easing of coronavirus restrictions on the Central Coast. Gawndy & Ash created the brew with suggestions and help from listeners too.

“There’s nothing that makes me happier than listener involvement,” said Ash Pollard. “We do this show for the Coast, it makes sense that we get locals to contribute to creating this sensational brew… and that way, we all take credit!”

Bay Rd Breweing is an independent microbrewery and taproom in Gosford. Founded in 2018, they helped create Out Of The Haze, which is a 5.2% ABV fruity and hazey brew.

“It’s been awesome collaborating with (Bay Rd’s) Grant, Simon and everyone involved at Bay Rd Brewing working to put this together for the Central Coast! From the flavour of the beer to the artwork on the can, it was great to have our listeners involved in the creation of the brew every step of the way!” added Gawndy.

“Bay Rd’s venue is a place that brings people together and it’s a great reminder of all the good times still to come once COVID-19 is a thing of the past. That’s why we made this beer to celebrate a little light at the end of the tunnel and finally being ‘Out of the Haze’.”

Out Of The Haze is available now at Bay Rd Brewing for a limited time, at selected bottle shops and online. Its launch is the latest step in SCA’s Shop Local Campaign.

“Working with the Hit101.3 team has been absolutely amazing,” said Bay Rd Brewing owner Grant Buckham. “The collaboration of two wicked brands to bring the Central Coast a great beer, which makes them smile after all the negativity this year, just warms my heart!

“It was great having listeners’ involvement in the process too, it really makes the beer feel like everyone owns it!”

Good idea. I hope it helps the business out. I tuned in not long ago from Newcastle. One of the worst shows I’ve heard in years! Why do SCA stick with this lowbrow show? If it was on a different station they wouldn’t rate. I reckon it’s only the Hit Brand holding them up. I would rather listen to the Novos breakfast program instead of these two self indulgent people who think are celebrities. If they pulled their egos and heads in I’m sure it’ll work. I’m a big fan of Tanya and Steve. But I do think Nick and Jess on Hit Newcastle are one of the best shows in regional Australia.

It would of worked better on Triple M Gosford. I hope Tanya and Steve do something similar.

Does it have the same flat, bland taste as Sea FM?

To “Not a Fan” – we’ve already done it on Triple M Newcastle – Triple M NRL with Frank, Hages and MG launched it a few months ago, and it’s great.

Feel free to order some … here’s more info.
