Christian O’Connell & David Campbell co-hosting Anzac Day concert

Former Assistant Editor

Gold FM host Christian O’Connell and smoothfm’s David Campbell will share hosting duties with Delta Goodrem and Guy Sebastian at Music From The Home Front concert this weekend.

The Anzac Day gig is set to see a stack of local acts come together to unite the country in the face of the coronavirus epidemic, and to honour both the ANZACs and our front-line health workers at this time.

The concert will air on Channel 9 and will feature performances from Sheppard, Birds Of Tokyo, Courtney Barnett, Guy Sebastian, James Morrison, Jimmy Barnes, Kevin Parker, Lee Kernaghan, Paul Kelly, The Wiggles, Tones and I, Troy Cassar-Daley and many more.

Mushroom Group’s Michael Gudinski told The Music Network this concert will be “uniquely different” from previous charity concerts he has run.

“This one’s come together in 10 days,” he said. “You’d think I’d have two months, particularly under these circumstances with no staff around me, but I’ve got a lot of people helping me.”

“Adrian Swift and the production team at Nine are going to be working relentlessly. I wanted to get it on free-to-air so it was fully available. Nine has given me full creative control.”

Music From The Home Front will also air on Channel Three in New Zealand.

O’Connell and Campbell will conduct their hosting duties from the safety of their own homes, while many artists will perform from their studios and homes.

There’ll be merchandise on sale throughout the concert, with profits from all sales going to Support Act and MusicHelpsLive.

Music From The Home Front airs April 25 from 7.30pm local on Nine and 9.30pm NZST on Three.
