LiSTNR launches new children’s news podcast with The Beanies

Children’s entertainers The Beanies have partnered with LiSTNR to debut a news podcast to keep kids informed throughout the school holidays.

Launching today, The Beanies Kids News will see Mim, Michael and Laura cover news and current affairs in an engaging and accessible manner, keeping children in the loop with the fast pace of the world around them.

The podcast will aim to convey serious topics with a fact-based approach to storytelling, helping to build media literacy among younger children without exposing them to more confronting news bulletins.

The Beanies Kids News will sit alongside the group’s other podcasts on LiSTNR, with Show & Tell and Story Time offering hours of interviews and musical content for children to enjoy.

Launching the podcast, The Beanies underscored the importance of creating engaging digital news content for children.

“Mini-Beanies are living through numerous historical events in their short lives, we want to arm our fans with the media literacy they will need for the future,” the group said.

“By helping them engage with current events at an earlier age it is our hope they will grow into media-savvy adults who understand and connect with the fast-paced world around them.”

Jen Goggin, LiSTNR’s head of content for original podcasts, expressed her hopes for the podcast to resonate with children and parents alike.

“The Beanies have always focused on creating podcast content that educates children while entertaining them through songs, stories and games so it felt like a natural progression for us to look at creating a stream of The Beanies podcast focusing on creating news content for kids, that parents could trust,” Goggin said.

“We look forward to its success.”
