Major changes at Hit105 as Mathew Eggleston heads to Sydney
Hit105 Brisbane content director Mathew Eggleston is leaving SCA’s Brisbane station
Eggo is set for a newly created gig, Hit Network national operations manager, based in Sydney.
He’ll drive areas including the implementation of operations, tactics and national projects across the entire network and Hit assets.
He leaves Hit105 after almost three and a half years and will be replaced by Jack Ball.
“Eggo has excelled in his role as content director of Hit 105 Brisbane and head of content Hit QLD, leading the content team to great success over the past 3 years,” Hit Network head of content Gemma Fordham told Radio Today.
During Eggo’s tenure, Hit105 excelled and was always there or thereabouts in the radio ratings, often holding the #1 spot.
Previous to joining Hit Brisbane, Eggo worked as the 2DayFM & national music director, and before that as MD at Fox FM.
“As a long term member of the SCA content team Eggo has worked at Fox, 2Day and Hit 105 across a variety of roles including as a music director and content director,” said Fordham.
“He has the right skillset to assist myself and the national content team as we transition to our new content operations structure and ensure we have projects communicated and implemented effectively across the whole regional and metro network.
“We look forward to welcoming Eggo to his new role.”
Jack Ball steps up from his current role of assistant CD and Hit Network music director.
He previously held music and content director positions for SCA in Adelaide and Melbourne, and is known in the industry for his forward-thinking approach to music, particularly Aussie music.
“Jack is an absolute star with an excellent reputation of crafting and developing shows, including our national shows from Brisbane such as Those 2 Girls, and has one of the most creative minds in the industry,” said Fordham.
Top heavy in sydney – all with middle management skill sets though.
Missing? A leader who has the authority, the experience to march this station and network forward. I am surprised Grant continues to allow these moves to happen.
Eggo, what a great CD, deserves his national title. Jack is an exceptional leader but what a massive loss for music. Well done both
More operational managers in Sydney than actual staff. How many OM’s does it take to change a light bulb? When you’re on a 4 share are the lights even on anymore?
Sounds like he will be doing Mickey Mahers old role in the regional markets. Leaves Gemma 2Dayfm and those national shows to look after. Well done Eggo well deserved mate.
Abi Benaud will return from 2day as ACD
Potential new 2DAYFM Content Director in the making. Might be sooner rather than later.
