News Corp appoints Del Fordham as head of audio

News Corp, NewsCast

News Corp has tapped a former NOVA Entertainment and SCA executive as its new head of audio for NewsCast; the company’s audio network.

This gig has gone to Del Fordham, who will lead News Corp’s audio network strategy, developing original content across its brands and editorial teams.

It’s a newly created role and follows the company’s recent partnership with NOVA Entertainment to ‘amplify’ its content across NE and the co-production of podcasts.

Fordham has more than 15 years’ experience as an audio content executive producer and manager, with roles at the ABC, SCA and Nova.

More recently, he’s been a senior account director at Global Eagle; an entertainment provider for the aviation industry.

“I’m passionate about original productions, on-demand content and bringing together different creators and content pillars to create synergies,” he said.

“Our growth strategy and upcoming original content slate will only build on the great momentum NewsCast has.”

Fordham will report to general manager of Commercial Networks and head of NewsCast, Ainslee O’Brien. She says they’re thrilled to have him on board.

“Fordham will be instrumental in driving the acceleration of our audio network and continued investment in high-quality audio storytelling,” said O’Brien.

“With bold ambitions for NewsCast and our commitment to delivering a market-leading audio network for our consumers and our customers, we’re thrilled to have Del leading the next phase of expansion.”

The new role with NewsCorp and NewsCast is effective immediately.
