Nikolai Beilharz and Stacey Lee revealed as new ABC Radio Adelaide breakfast team

Nikolai Beilharz and Stacey Lee have been announced as the new breakfast line-up for ABC Radio Adelaide.

Both broadcasters are well-known to ABC audiences across South Australia with Beilharz having presented numerous regional programs over the past 15 years, including the SA edition of The Country Hour as well as appearing as a regular guest on Overnights; and Lee is a former SA political journalist and a regular contributor to ABC Radio Adelaide’s agenda-setting Spin Cycle.

ABC Adelaide Local Manager Graeme Bennett said the pairing would add a contemporary edge to a program that audiences have always trusted.

“We know that Adelaide expects us to do the job we’re here for and to do it in a way that reflects our town. Nikolai and Stacey will add positive energy and passion to what we do. They’re experienced and strongly committed to the ABC way and the place we live in.”

The pair replace Ali Clarke who quit the program unexpectedly at the end of the last year.

Regulars David Bevan, Sonya Feldhoff, Jules Schiller, Peter Goers, and Deb Tribe also return in 2022.

The station’s roving reporter for the past 11 years, Spence Denny will not be back after announcing his retirement after 33 years with the ABC.

“I told my manager I wanted to retire about 8 weeks ago… It has nothing to do with Ali’s resignation…”

The new breakfast team will start on-air on Friday 21 January.

OSKAR PICHLER

Hello morning team
I’m not flash on tech so even doing this email is tricky,,my name is OSKAR PICHLER from the Pines down Yorke Peninsula.I am a long time listener. I like the new team look ,a good mix of personality putting men in a very likeable realistic human view ,that being Nicolai, and showing how a woman Stacey Lee,can be strong and assertive whilst still being feminine, I enjoy how she can stop a politicians rediculous rants in a flash and bring them back on track..without appearing being hard headed , but just being sensible . It is a breath of fresh air, David Bevan is still just David
,a good political journo ,,But,,, selective in who he talks to publicly and cuts them off on the line rudely way too often, like I said David! ,,also a questionable taste in music and screen viewing, I do understand though the need to keep aged patrons happy…
Thankyou Team,and the ABC,,,,
