November’s top 20 podcasts in Australia

The results for November’s top podcasts were released today on the Australian Podcast Ranker’s new look Triton Digital website.

Here are the top 20 for the month of November.

The top 4 in November’s podcast ranker have remained the same with The Kyle and Jackie O Show podcast moving one place to finish at #5.

The rest of the top 20 podcasts remain largely unchanged from last month with the exception of some minor deviations and a couple of bigger movers.

Two noteworthy movements come from crime podcasts, Shandee’s Story and My Favourite Murder with Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark.

News Corp’s Shandee’s Story podcast has exploded onto the charts after launching on November 8th, with a comfortable resting place at #11 on 329,851 downloads.

Shandee Blackburn’s cold case story is told by Gold Walkley winning journalist, Hedley Thomas. Shandee was brutally murdered in Mackay, QLD walking home from work one night. She was stabbed more than 20 times.

My Favourite Murder with Karen Kilgriff and Georgia Hardstark rose 30 places in the month of November to place #13 with 204,179 monthly listeners.

The lifelong fans of true crime launched their first episode in January of 2016 and have recently passed 300 episodes covering their favourite tales of murders and hometown crimes.

iHeart’s Podcast Network cemented its place at the high end of the chart with 7 podcasts in the top 20.

Audioboom’s Casefile, which is part of the iHeartPodcast Network, retained its place as Australia’s #1 most listened to podcast with 961,420 monthly listeners, 60,000 listeners ahead of the nearest competition.

Life Uncut with Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne is #3 with 474,207 listeners. The Kyle & Jackie O Show is Australia’s #1 radio catch up podcast and #5 on the podcast ranker with 444,258 monthly listeners.

Stuff You Should Know is #7 with 295,376 listeners and other highlights included, Audioboom’s Morbid: A True Crime Podcast at #12 with 207,394 listeners, Audioboom’s No Such Thing As A Fish #14 and She’s On The Money #15. ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network represents 25 of the top 100 most popular podcasts in Australia.

LiSTNR had 2.8 million podcast listeners and the largest number of podcast rankers in the All Australian Ranker, including Hamish & Andy, The Howie Games, The Briefing, The Scorecard with Liam Flanagan, and The National Briefing, all in the Top 20.

Radio podcasts on LiSTNR gained popularity in the ranker’s Top 50, including The Marty Sheargold Show – Triple M, Molloy, The Rush Hour with JB & Billy, The Rush Hour with MG & Liam, and Carrie & Tommy.

Other LiSTNR podcasts in the Top 50 were, Just the Gist, Matt & Alex All Day Breakfast, Motley Fool Money, and Hamish & Andy’s Remembering Project.
