A newly launched Australian podcast aims to pull back the curtain on the role of influencers within social media marketing today.

Produced by Sydney and Melbourne Vegan Guides founder and content creator Renee Buckingham, DoYouEven Influence gives listeners a behind-the-scenes look at the influencer industry as it continues to gain traction around the world.

The podcast acts as an extension of Buckingham’s own personal efforts over the past six years to legitimise the career of influencers and advocate for improved industry standards, reflecting a recent Business Insider report which found that brands are predicted to spend more than $15 billion on influencer marketing in 2022.

Each episode will see Buckingham and her elder brother James host an array of local and international names as they share their experiences of working alongside brands, building an organic following and the darker side of the industry.

Initial guests to appear on the program include sneaker influencer Jemuel Wong, body diversity advocate Rani West, vegan social media star Liz Miu and UK talent Tennesha Vanterpool, with the podcast also set to feature interviews with PR professionals, gamers and entrepreneurs to offer a broader perspective of the sector and where it’s headed.

DoYouEven Influence? is out now on all major podcasting platforms.
