Macquarie Sports Radio has secured the services of legendary sports commentary duo ‘Rampaging’ Roy Slaven and H.G. Nelson.

The duo is joining Macquarie for its exclusive coverage of the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.

The World Cup takes place from May 30 to July 14, over 45 days.

Just Short of a Length with Roy and HG will air every Saturday between 10am-12pm over the duration of the competition.

“It’s been a dream to cover every ball of an ODI World Cup and Macquarie Sports Radio have gone above and beyond in making this happen,” said Roy and HG.

“Just Short of a Length with Roy and H.G. will cover every snick and flick of the most exciting sports event in 2019 – a year chockablock full of greatness.

“We are simply over the moon and promise to play every ball on its merit.”

Macquarie CEO Adam Lang said the network is hugely excited to welcome the iconic duo to the team.

“We are beyond thrilled to be welcoming Roy and H.G. to the Macquarie Sports Radio family,” he said.

“Their passion for sport and the irreverent nature in which they present are a perfect fit for a radio station dedicated to delivering more laughs and more live sport than ever before. This is a big win for our audience, our clients and ourselves.”

The news was announced this morning on Macquarie Sports Radio:

Just Short of a Length with Roy and H.G. premieres on June 1.

Yeh Yeh ! Unfortunately for them this station’s audience would fit in a phone box. They must be hard up for a dollar.

As a long-time listener, it’s amazing to have them back on-air. The show is sounding better than ever, and I can only hope they stay at Macquarie for many years to come!
