Ruby Fields filling in for triple j Breakfast

Former Assistant Editor

triple j Breakfast duo Ben & Liam are taking a break next week, and their replacement has outed herself on Instagram.

Sydney-hailing artist Ruby Fields will be stepping into the Breakfast chair by popular demand, after Ben & Liam asked listeners who they’d like to be “babysat” by.

“I’ve always loved spinning a yarn and making people laugh – guessing this is the biggest chance I’ll ever have to do that where people can only boo me on the text line,” she said.

“I’ll be ringing up some cooked mates, talking to my vet about my rat (busy life, will have to multitask) and painstakingly avoiding inappropriate words.”

Fields also posted to Instagram to announced the news.

Ruby has already proven herself adept a wielding a mic for triple j, after she interviewed Laneway attendees in Brisbane earlier this year.

It’s also not the first time this year that triple j hosts have been replaced by musicians whilst on break in 2019.

Declan Byrne took leave recently and was replaced by Alex Lahey and Kwame for a week each.

Ruby Fields will present triple j Breakfast from 1-5 July.
