SCA news when you want with Amazon Alexa

Southern Cross Austereo continues to blaze the trail in providing a digital ‘news on demand’ service.

After last year launching a bespoke news service for Google Home, SCA has now jumped on board of Amazon Alexa.

Hit Network and Triple M ‘flash briefings’ are now available, allowing listeners to receive a personalised briefing, which they can play by asking “Alexa, what’s the news?”

SCA chief creative officer Guy Dobson believes it’s the way of the future and one that the media giant is excited to embrace.

“Connected home products like the Amazon Echo and other Alexa enabled devices will only become more and more popular with Australians and we will continue to lead in this space, making sure our content is easy to find from anywhere that our listeners want to find it.

“Like radio, we will be updating our content several times a day but importantly it is always available to the listener on demand.”

While only available for the major metro markets, SCA may extend them to other markets and regions in the future.
