The Lazy Girls Guide… podcast

Podcasting has been called the new ‘golden age’ of broadcasting. With hundreds of ‘stories’ being told, we’re being spoiled for choice.

While ‘True Crime’ has been one of the dominant podcasting genres, the ‘lifestyle’ podcasts are also attracting huge download numbers.

The Lazy Girls Guide is the latest to appear on the scene. The brainchild of Hit FM Cairn’s Carly Portch, the podcasts offer a practical look at issues, without hitting listeners over the head with details.

“I love consuming podcasts and I wanted to create a podcast with a purpose,” Carly tells Radio Today.

“The Lazy Girls Guide is aimed at girls like myself, who want quick and easy to understand, bite-sized bits of information on a topic.”

Episode one looked at superannuation with finance expert James Mousa, with Carly planning further episodes on wedding planning, good sex, psychic ability and book writing; featuring Tanya Hennessy.

I wanted to create a podcast, where girls can listen and have me ask all the curious questions on a topic they might be too scared to ask.

It is basically 20-minute episodes on a range of topics designed to give the “lazy Girl” a quick overview of the subject without going into too much detail.”

Episodes one and two are now available on iTunes or listen here to the Lazy Girls Guide.
